Black and Brown Punk Show is an annual festival highlighting the black and brown, queer and trans DIY punk scene in Chicago.
We envision a successful integrated punk scene that thrives on it's diversity, autonomy and unique communities.
We believe that both black and brown communities have a shared sense of struggle within the city, and we work to educate and unify both demographics.
We also acknowledge the need for safer spaces for queer and trans folks of color in both the punk community and our own (respectively).
Allies are welcome and encouraged in participating with organizing, however we stress autonomy in our major organizing efforts.
We do not support any form of sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, sexual assault or any type of oppressive behaviors.
We are a building scene where all participants hold each other and themselves accountable.
